H.O.P.E. Trust is a Garden Trust dedicated to inspire environmental  appreciation, improve knowledge and uplift community advancement  through education, research, and spiritual development. This special trust works toward the beautification and enhancement of the clean, green image of New Zealand, for the community and involving its citizens in innovative gardening and environmental/educational projects designed for community improvement.

The Trust is currently working with the children, parents and community plus local business, industry and government associated with Sutton Park Primary School in Mangere East, Manukau. The spectacular results of this gardening project have already resulted in bountiful vegetable gardens, rainbow flowering beds, improved school performance , reduced community crime and greater community participation. Assisted with the help of Dale Harvey, New Zealand’s Gardening Guru, these efforts received honorable recognition by Mayor of Manukau, Sir Barry Curtis in 2002, Environmental Initiative Funding from Auckland Regional Council 2003, and international television recognition from the Japanese Government 2004.

H.O.P.E. Trust believes gardening is an essential life skill closely allied to food production, nutrition, personal health and fitness, developing environmental awareness and caring, community development and growing better citizens. 

The Trust aims to inspire the joy of gardening, teach the skills of growing your own food and the need to protect, improve and care for our local environments, to as many people as possible.
